This phrase isn't a replacement for "hello" because it's not an salutation like "hi," "good morning," "howdy," "g'day," etc., but it can be combined with an informal salutation like "Hi, how's everything?" ("Hola, ¿cómo va?")

Hi! So, as some other colleages already mentioned, "How's everything?" is not a substitution for hello!, it is indeed for "How are you?", which would be: qué tal (todo)? or cómo estás?

La interpretación en español de esta pregunta literalmente ''¿Como están todas las cosas?' es el equivalente a ¿Cómo esta todo? ¿Cómo anda todo? o ¿Cómo va todo? dependiendo el pais latino-americano donde te encuentres.
