I am Mariel Olivera. I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am a keen traveller who tries to discover the world as much as possible. So far I have been all around South America and Europe.

As regards to my interests, I do a lot of research on education, Hispanic accents, culture and traditions. I am very interested in literature, films, spiritualism, philosophy, vegetarianism, ecology, among other topics.

I volunteered for AFS, where I helped to many travelers who came to Buenos Aires. I have also volunteered for Reevo, Ecologists in Action, Homeless People and Engineers without Borders. I love culture and society differences, and I consider myself very patient and empathetic with cultures that are different from my own.

I have a BA in translation, for which reason I have studied a lot of grammar, phonetics and phonology. As regards to my studies, I also got a certification to Teach Spanish to foreigners. I have been teaching Spanish for 6 years already and I really enjoy it.

As regards to my teaching methods, I use the pre-teaching technique, which I use to introduce vocabulary and grammar before working with the corresponding texts and resources. During the lessons, we will use texts, slides, pictures, flashcards, audios or videos. I try to perform the lessons in a way as creative and fun as possible. I create many of my resources or take them from other resources, but we won't have just one book to learn, as I create my own material

I like being very customized with my students, so I try to focus on your goals. If you want to travel, let's learn more about that and read travel articles. If you want to use Spanish for work, to move around the city as an expat, to communicate with your couple... let's focus on that!

I offer individual and group lessons, and they can be regular or intensive. I also offer speaking lessons. It's all up to you!
